Description Man-made Hematite (also known as Hematine or Hemalyke) is a manufactured semi-precious stone. Historically, it was made of reconstituted Hematite but today it is much more likely to be barium-strontium ferrite. It is identical to Hematite in appearance and weight but more stable and wearer friendly – raw Hematite is very brittle. Almost all “Hematite” beads sold commercially are man-made, although many suppliers claim (wrongly) that they are “natural”.
