Description Strand of irregular nuggets ranging in size from 10mm – 15mm.Carnelian is the orange-red translucent form of Chalcedony and gets its colour from traces of iron oxide(hematite) or goethite. It was highly valued by the Greeks and Romans who used it for signet rings.
